Home Theater PC.
A home theater PC (HTPC) is a personal computer that is used to replace components in a home theater system. The general goal in a HTPC is usually to combine most (or all) of a home theater setup into one box. There are lots of advantages to this type of setup.

You pay for the software once and never have any other fees. TV shows can be set to record on your HTPC from the Electronic Program Guide (EPG). Recording space can easily be upgraded, and/or shows can be burned to DVD.

A HTPC system allows you to time shift (pause, rewind and fast forward) live TV. Just think you will never have to miss the best part of your favorite TV program, when you have to answer the phone.

No more digging through piles of CD's that keep getting more and more scratched. Your entire music collection (and DVD collection) can be stored in one place, and easily accessible. Cover Art and song information can be displayed on the screen. Your entire HTPC music library is searchable by Artist, Album, Genre and Track Title.

Other features of a HTPC include digital photo albums, web intergration, caller ID, and the ability to control your HTPC via remote.

This is where you can select the functions of the Windows Media Center Edition PC System.
